Beyond the Battlefield
The SFCT presents, “Beyond the Battlefield” – a sponsored Operational Stress Management & Suicide Prevention Platform. The intent of this platform is to offer soldiers an option to anonymously explore and invest in their mental and emotional wealth.
While the government does a fine job of preparing Soldiers for war, they fall short when it comes to Family support and in preparing the Soldier for what lies beyond the battlefield. The Special Forces Charitable Trust strives to fill those shortfalls. The growing mental wellness crisis in America is no secret and since mental wellness is not discriminatory, it affects every category of society. The U.S. Army Special Forces community is no exception. Already war-torn and tired, operators are returning home to wage yet another war, the war on Operational Fatigue Syndrome. The bravado of the 20-year war may have relinquished, but its silence is exposing the deafening sounds of chaos in the hearts and minds of these Soldiers. Presenting as Post-Traumatic Stress, suicidal ideation or the burden of various causes of guilt, it is important to offer a solution for those seeking help and comfort without fear of reporting, ridicule, or unnecessary push back from the Tri-Care Health System. Our mission is to provide an option that offers a silently suffering Soldier and his family a path towards help, without the worry of how it may impact his career.
